Such a sweet darling baby and some pretty sweet light - I was in heaven! This dear little girl had some teeth coming through plus a bit of a cold but she was still such a trooper. She had the most adorable way of rocking back and forth from a crawling position, trying to work out how to stand up. The determination on her little face, it was so clear that she knew what she wanted to do but couldn’t quite make it happen. Way too cute!

I took my little guys to the Zoo on the school holidays. We had an absolutely delightful time, can’t wait to do it again!!

Blue-eyed babes in blue and white - adorable! I do love photographing chubby babies and small kidlets. Those gorgeous smiles and giggles, and the way the little one could hardly take her eyes of her big sister - it was just magic to watch them!! I could have stayed all day!

As much as I adore my two little boys, sometimes I think wouldn’t it be fun to have a little doll of a girl to dress up! LOL. I do love all the gorgeous little clothes available for girls. Here are some images from a recent session with good friends of ours and their own little doll and little dude.

Although the colours of the late afternoon were gorgeous, I can’t resist showing this beautiful black and white portrait. They just look so happy!!

A gorgeous sunny day and a delightful palette of colours brought out the gorgeousness of this 4 month old baby and her 2 year old big sister…I was in heaven! The colours and light were just magical. Yummy pastels, bright red and blues, and rich, earthy autumn colours…topped off by peaches and cream baby skin and some seriously big brown eyes!

A while ago now hubby and I took the boys to Luna Park….I have finally had a chance to look through my photos from that outing, and I love them so much I wanted to share, so here they are!

..and this is what I got. I think it’s hilarious. Gorgeous, gorgeous kids. Two are mine, and two are our neighbours kids.

Ah…someone finally looked my way.

Things did get better after that. This awesome family are our neighbours (kind of. They are not living next door right now, they are living in Adelaide while their new house is being built). Recently we flew over to Adelaide to visit them and had a fabulous time playing on the beach, which is practically on their doorstep the lucky things.

Gosh I love photographing teens. It’s not only that they don’t run from my camera like little kids sometimes will, but it’s a beautiful time of their lives (which they may not appreciate until later, haha). For parents, I imagine, it’s a time of major headaches but also heartache to know their children are growing up and preparing to leave the nest. Which makes me realise how very important it is to have family portraits taken at this stage, to capture the beauty/awkwardness/confidence/insecurity of adolescence. This is my friend and fellow photographer, Hayley and her gorgeous family. We came up with the idea of taking each other’s family photos, so recently we travelled down to Phillip Island to have our photos taken on a farm adjacent to Hayley’s studio. (you can see my family shots here - thanks again Hayley!). Hope you like these ones.

Recently I entered a bunch of prints into the 2010 AIPP Victorian Professional Photographer of the Year awards. I was sooo unsure how my prints would go….I had a (good) hunch about a couple of them…but it is really hard to know what the panel of judges would think of them, hard to be objective. One does become rather attached to one’s work! Anyway, I was thrilled to receive 2 silver awards (one in Portrait, one in Wedding) and 1 silver with distinction (Wedding).

In the forest

In the forest it was chilly and damp and misty…but the autumn colours and the beautiful spirits of these gorgeous children warmed my heart. Oh, and running around after them up and down (very steep) paths warmed me up in other ways!

The occasion was Lily’s one-year portraits, and the location - the superb Alfred Nicholas Gardens in Sherbrooke. Naturally I couldn’t help taking photos of her big brother too….and some horses on the way home in the almost-dark.

There’s something magical about horses against a misty backdrop. Love how this one’s owner put a blanket on him to keep him warm.
