It’s been ages since I’ve photographed a tiny new one, so I thoroughly enjoyed capturing the newness of this perfect little being today. She seriously had the most divine, creamy skin. Loved her strawberry blonde wisps of hair and her sweet temperament….*big sigh*. So gorgeous!
Well…not quite! Once again I visited this lovely family with the newborn twin girls to try for some shots with BOTH asleep or at least settled at the same time. Our plan had been to have them soundly asleep covered with a blanket when I arrived, then we would simply whisk away the blanket and voila! we’d have some sleepy shots. Haha! It didn’t quite work that way…I only got one together..but I did get loads of lovely individual ones. 
This is the only one together, asleep! This lasted only a few seconds before one twin woke up, and elbowed her sister awake too. :) Ah well, I hope to have the honour of returning in a few months to take some chubby, smiley, sitting up shots.
Black and white baby portraits have a special quality…timeless and classic.
Matching angels, that is. :) These beautiful 8-week old identical twins were simply the sweetest, most contented little babes. It was such a pleasure to meet these precious girls, and I have to admit to feeling extremely clucky after spending time with them.

I felt very honoured today to photograph the new baby boy of dear friends of ours. Very clever parents indeed to bring such a perfect and beautiful babe into the world! Congratulations once again guys.
Just look at this little face! Have you ever seen anything cuter?? This first picture is just a small taste of the adorable expressions this 3 week old baby boy gave me. Not only is he cute, but he was so good sleeping on cue for his photos and being generally agreeable and lovely…the perfect baby!
Yesterday I had the honour of photographing the new little baby girl of good friends of ours, at three days old. She’s beautiful and perfect and of course totally adored. The photos were taken in a gorgeous room at the Park Hyatt, where baby Vivian gets to spend the first few days of her life (courtesy of an arrangement with the hospital where she was born). It’s only sensible that she gets used to such an opulent lifestyle from the very beginning, because I’m quite sure she will be a Princess…at least in her Daddy’s eyes :).
This gorgeous babe was so very cuddly, I had to keep reminding myself I was there to take pictures and then reluctantly hand him back to his mama - gosh he was sweet! He is three weeks old and very very alert (when he wasn’t napping ). I also saw lots of smiles which were definitely not gas - just look at this wonderful eye contact I got!
I find it fascinating how personality seems to be formed even in tiny new babies. These dear little boys had quite distinct personalities - they were definitely not identical in personality, only in looks :). We tried to get them to sleep at the same time for some sleepy photos. That didn’t quite work, but I got some lovely awake shots. Twins are hard work at this age and I am just so full of admiration for these boys’ mother…what an amazing woman! Had the pleasure yesterday of catching up with an old friend who’s just had her third baby, another little girl. How sweet are these three sisters!
