Keeping with tradition

Having your photo session at the family home has a number of advantages all round. As much as I love location shoots, a session at home means a) I get to have a cup of tea before we start; b) wardrobe options can be viewed and discussed over said cuppa; and c) the family pet gets to have a photo too. :). It has now become a bit of a tradition for me to grab a shot of any four legged friends who wander into the frame. Today’s delightful family had two pretty little cats, one of whom posed nicely for me (the other one was too quick, lol).

Today was all about this little fellow though. Nineteen months and cute as a button with a very, very intense gaze!

Sunshine and flowers…

…made for a delightful, colourful session yesterday. It was a teeny bit hot for my liking but after a while a delicious breeze came along to cool things down a bit. I’ve been spoilt lately with good-looking families to photograph, and yesterday’s session was no exception!

A little boy and the joy he brings

The moment this little fellow fixed those enormous brown eyes of his on me I was captivated. The sweetest little personality and simply wonderful parents made this session an absolute delight, not to mention fabulous sunny weather! I’m sure these photos will bring much joy to this little guy’s family and I am so very glad to have captured his cuteness and the love his parents have for him.

Little star

This super cute and chubby 8 month old boy was a star at his photo shoot yesterday. Even though he was teething he was such a trooper! I loved every minute of my session with this delightful little man. Enjoy your sneak preview, lovely family!

Together again

Perfect spring weather and the stunning backdrop of the Melbourne Museum made for a terrific portrait session for this family, who have recently welcomed one of the ‘kids’ back into the nest after a couple of years living overseas. Cousins

Just sharing some photographs I took of my brother-in-law and family who have just returned to Denmark after a month’s holiday here in Australia. My two boys were so happy to meet their Danish cousins AND their great-grandmother (age 91!) for the first time and get to know them. We had some wonderful outings and family get-togethers. Here they are at Southbank.

Well hello there!

Just look at this little face! Have you ever seen anything cuter?? This first picture is just a small taste of the adorable expressions this 3 week old baby boy gave me. Not only is he cute, but he was so good sleeping on cue for his photos and being generally agreeable and lovely…the perfect baby!

Five Star Babe

Yesterday I had the honour of photographing the new little baby girl of good friends of ours, at three days old. She’s beautiful and perfect and of course totally adored. The photos were taken in a gorgeous room at the Park Hyatt, where baby Vivian gets to spend the first few days of her life (courtesy of an arrangement with the hospital where she was born). It’s only sensible that she gets used to such an opulent lifestyle from the very beginning, because I’m quite sure she will be a Princess…at least in her Daddy’s eyes :).

Cuteness alert!

I had such a lovely time photographing this dear little chap with enormous brown eyes that could melt your heart. He is 20 months old, and as usual for this age he was a very busy little man (and fast!), but he still had lots of smiles and giggles for me.

Christmas presents

Santa was very good to the boys this year… a Thunderbird 3, a Lego convertible and some rather awful action-man transformer thing that my 3-year old just adores…it’s next to him as he sleeps tonight…

And this….massive!…pretty impressive-looking Lego Star Wars troop carrier for my Alex. This was actually an early Chrissie present that he got a few weeks ago when he had chicken pox and was quarantined at home. It took him three days to build it…but he did it, totally by himself…he’s only five. He’s so very very proud of it.

And this is something that I’m very proud of, a beautiful album for my mother-in-law of photos of her grandsons. My clients love these too, and I have such a hard time letting go of them once they’re all assembled…so beautiful! I didn’t want to give up this one either :). But I will definitely make up another one for ourselves. They hold 20 5×7’s and are hand-made with soft leather and thick, luxurious matted pages.
