In the forest it was chilly and damp and misty…but the autumn colours and the beautiful spirits of these gorgeous children warmed my heart. Oh, and running around after them up and down (very steep) paths warmed me up in other ways!
The occasion was Lily’s one-year portraits, and the location - the superb Alfred Nicholas Gardens in Sherbrooke. Naturally I couldn’t help taking photos of her big brother too….and some horses on the way home in the almost-dark.

There’s something magical about horses against a misty backdrop. Love how this one’s owner put a blanket on him to keep him warm.

The horse is lovely as well, and I agree about them being magical. I love watching our neighbors horses.
Connie, my sheep and I thank you for the compliment on the scarf - it’s homespun, home-dyed and home-knit in an old shale lace pattern .
